YUMMY 4th Of July Treat

(This is not the greatest pic, sorry!  It was snapped in a hurry last year....'cuz ya know...
...it's SO good...someone was bound to grab it and start eating it...I HAD to hurry!!)

Last summer, one of the AMAZING gals in my craft club, Myrleen, shared a treat with us that was SO delicious...we all had to have the recipe for it afterwards!  I am a total choc-o-hol-ic so I was shocked that this treat was SO yummy and even more shocked that I couldn't get enough of it!  It's official - you should ALL make this for your families today...or at least get the ingredients so you can make it for the 4th tomorrow!!  Here are Myrleen's directions:

Cream Cheese Stars

1 pkg. 8 Cream Cheese
1/2 cup Whipping Cream (the liquid kind you have to whip)
1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
1 t. Vanilla
Fresh Cut Fruit
Canned Whipped Cream or Cool Whip
Sliced Strawberries
Blueberries

Set the cream cheese out until it is room temperature. Blend the first four ingredients together with a blender. Put in cupcake molds (Michaels has stars, hearts, and others that you can buy for $9.99.) and freeze for two to three hours. Serve frozen, topped with fruit and whipped cream.

For FUTURE Holidays & Seasons:
Strawberries and blueberries are great for the 4th of July but in September - fresh peaches really hit the spot.

Kiwi is yummy in the Spring (St Patrick's Day) along with different types of melon balls, and raspberries work well, too.

For Valentine's Day, you can cut up strawberries, swirl canned whipped cream on top, then shave chocolate on top of everything....very romantic and hits the spot!

(...and of course, you can put food coloring in with the cream cheese!)

Happy 4th of July!!

  1. My mouth is watering! This sounds totally delish. Gonna have to make a run to the store and face all the chaos just so I can try this...TODAY!

  2. That looks amazing! I'm a chocolate fan too, so I always trust another chocoholic on dessert choices. Thanks for sharing!
